Performs various Nurse and Technologist Assistant duties in the Radiology Department to ensure quality patient care in accordance with the mission and philosophy of St. Alexius Medical Center. Education: Completed an approved medical assistant education program or equivalent work experience to include comprehension of medical terminology. Licensure: Must be listed on a Nurse Assistant Registry operated by the North Dakota Board of Nursing, State Department and Consolidated Laboratories by the North Dakota Board of Nursing. If not on a registry, then must obtain placement on one during first 480 hours. Experience: Preferred hospital experience, aide experience or satisfactory completion of certification/training program. Skills: 1. Computer, data entry skills. 2. Organizational skills. 3. Work under pressure. Interpersonal Skills: Relates well with staff, patients, physicians and visitors. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Maintains confidentiality. Accountable for own conduct and promotes and supports positive working relationships.Physical Effort: Medium work level. Involves a maximum physical effort requirement of 50 pounds. Must be able to do lifting, walking, pushing, transporting of patients in wheelchairs and stretchers and transporting of film files. Hours of Work: Variable day, evening, and weekend shift. Other: Works under the following conditions: Potential exposure to mechanical, chemical, electrical and infectious material, environmental hazards. Also includes exposure to ionizing radiation.
