U.S. Bank Infrastructure Capacity Planner and Analyst in Fargo, North Dakota

U.S. Bank is seeking a Capacity Planner with overall systems hardware, software, and storage performance experience to contribute toward the success of our technology initiatives. Responsible for monitoring and reporting on the capacity of overall systems, software, hardware, and storage components. Works with application developers, infrastructure specialists, and operations staff to monitor existing and estimate future capacity. Produces and analyzes capacity reports on mainframe processor and storage utilization. Develops and maintains a comprehensive storage, server, hardware, and software configuration database/library of all supporting documentation. Reviews development projects to determine mainframe impact and calculates the financial cost of the impact for project evaluation. Monitors system performance and tunes systems, as needed, for enhancements or new applications. Assists with the analysis of system effectiveness and recommendation of solutions.

Basic Qualifications

-Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience

-At least 6 years experience with tools and practices for determining and managing resources (hardware, software, etc.) needed to provide satisfactory levels of service for current and future applications.

Preferred Skills/Experience

Basic understanding in:

-Server hardware and software

-Mid-range hardware

-Mid-range software and utilities

-Networking capacity concepts

Working experience in:

-Technical/financial knowledge

Extensive experience in:

-Storage hardware

-Server hardware

-System software infrastructure
