The primary responsibility of the Sales Associate is to provide excellent customer service, operate registers, stock shelves, put out freight, blow up latex and mylar balloons.ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:Sales and Service StandardsUnderstands and follows Party Cityand#39;s customer service standards and expectations.Builds customer clientele and customer loyalty by making customer satisfaction the storeand#39;s top priority.Effectively implements Store Manager priorities to achieve sales and service goals.Increases average ticket sales by modeling suggestive selling skills through add-on sales opportunities.Ensures a fast and efficient checkout for customers. Processes all register transactions according to company policy.Keeps informed on new products and general party planning information.Answers customer questions on products and other party planning ideas.Human Resource StandardsCompletes Sales Associate Training program.Adheres to company policies and safety rules and regulations including dress codeAdheres to directives and company policies regarding attendance and punctuality.Models employee handbook standards.Communicates effectively and in a positive manner with Team Members.Inventory/Merchandise StandardsCommunicates inventory needs as appropriate to Store Manager.Moves and stocks incoming merchandise to sales floor.Understands and assist Store Manager in implementing corporate merchandising standards (i.e. seasonal sets, plan-o-grams, facing/fronting of merchandise, restocking, promotions, tagging and signage).Effectively maintains presentations of all elements visible to customers and non-sales areas (store maintenance and cleanliness, lighting, stockroom, restrooms, etc)Assists Store Manager in physical inventory preparation, count and audit.Operations/Administration StandardsCompletes tasks in a safe manner following appropriate safety guidelines.Communicates supply needs to the Store Manager.Handles company funds and assets with care to minimize store losses.Effectively completes opening and closing checklists as directed by Store Manager.*The foregoing tasks, duties and responsibilities as well as any other reasonable tasks assigned need to be performed in a timely manner, as to meet the everyday needs of the store.QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIRMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
