Clinical Informatics - PE
The Informaticist is responsible for contributing to the fulfillment of the CHI St. Alexius Health mission and vision by developing, coordinating, and maintaining the Clinical Information System applications. The Clinical Information System is defined as computer applications directly related to documentation for patient care, including but not limited to nursing care in the acute and ambulatory settings. Education: 2 year degree in clinical, computer, education or business field with 1 year of related experience or 4 year degree with no experience. Licensure/Credentialing: None specific to job; personal responsibility to keep current any previous licensures appropriate to education degree. Must obtain Credentialed Trainer status with Epic Training Leadership Team within 16 weeks of assignment or next offering. Experience: Preferably two (2) years of clinical, education, computer or business experience in a healthcare setting. Knowledge/Skills/abilities: · Ability to plan and prioritize responsibilities, make decisions and work independently. · Knowledge of the concepts, standards and practices relating to adult learning, continuing education and educational effectiveness. · Knowledge of the activities associated with the design, delivery and evaluation of effective computer training programs. · Knowledge of approaches, tools and techniques for delivering formal and informal training programs and evaluating their effectiveness · Ability to review and critique curricula, course content/outlines, training tools, participant materials and related documentation. · Ability to provide effective direct technical assistance to users in the operation and use of computer applications. · Ability to express ideas and convey technical information effectively in verbal and written communication, and in group training presentations. · Ability to assess and translate organization/customer needs to learning objectives and devise effective training solutions. · Ability to keep abreast of the literature regarding computer training and to evaluate the potential of new materials and instructional aids. · Ability to read,understand, interpret and apply technical manuals and documentation. · Ability to incorporate adult learning principles into the planning and delivery of lesson plans and user guides for training classes. · Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships, trusting and placing a high value on treating others with dignity and respect. Maintaining Professionalism with all contacts. · Maintains confidentiality. Physical Effort: Physical work level of Light Medium: Involves a maximum physical effort requirement of 35 pounds full material handling. Hours of Work: Day/Evening shift Monday thru Friday. As needed evenings, nights, weekends and holidays may be required. On call rotation is part of the position based upon area assigned/covered . May include travel to CHI St. Alexius sites as necessary. Exemption Status: Non-Exempt Other: Works under the following conditions: Normal office environment with routine periods for sitting/walking and standing required. May work under the condition that there may be potential exposure to mechanical, chemical, electrical, and infectious environmental hazards associated with Medical Center operations.
