The Current by GE Digital Product Management organization has an exciting opportunity for a visionary product manager with both technical and commercial product management experience to drive our Edge solution portfolio. The successful candidate will drive the strategic roadmap, profitability, requirements specification, design, development, and go-to-market activities. for this solution.
The Principal Digital Product Manager will be responsible for :
Directing the full product life cycle from conception to customer success for our edge devices including both wireless (Daintree portfolio leveraging Zigbee protocol) and wired (Tridium JACE / Niagra) portfolios. This will require the ability to drive both hardware and firmware solution strategies and development activities, including decisions regarding build / buy / partner
Directing our edgehardware and firmware engineering teams to deliver end-to-end solution requirements
Working collaboratively with other digital product managers to enable their end-to-end solutions, e.g. Energy Management and Ecosystem Engineering, by gathering solution requirements and managing a product backlog consistent with the overall business’s objectives
Orchestrating the collaboration with other internal sensor development efforts
Acting as the voice of the customer, engaging with external customers and translating their needs into viable solutions
Applying a balance of technical andbusiness / market expertise to create an edge platform that profitably addresses market needs
Owning the commercial success and profitability of the product across pricing, go-to-market strategy, marketing, inventory management, and sales support
Serving as a subject matter expert and product expert for our Edge portfolio
Building connections across functions with internal stakeholders, such as engineering, program management, marketing, go-tomarket,services, sales and operations to ensure rapid market adoption and financial success
Directing and controlling the activities of a broad functional area having overall responsibility for planning, budgeting, implementing and maintaining costs, methods, and employees
Working with leadership and stakeholders in creating a vision, developing a plan and successfully executing against that plan
Creating product strategy including assessing when appropriate to build, buy or partner on technology requirements
Identifying technical and commercial partners
Driving competitive differentiation, customer value and product line growth
Making appropriate tradeoffs on product technical and commercial investment choices
BS Degree in computer science or engineering focus from an accredited University or College
Minimum 12 years of technical experience along with established leadership credentials across product lines (including experience in defining, building and launching successful products; Experience with Agile software development methods including developing story maps, detailed user stories, and other requirements artifacts to support the development process and Experience working with distributed cross-functional teams across multiple, interdependent projects within a technically complex and fast paced environment)
Minimum 7 years of experience in technical & customer facing roles with proven track record

Must be willing to travel 30%
MBA from an accredited University or College
Minimum of 5 years of experience in Product Management
Smart / connected building experience
Direct IIOT experience
Six Sigma experience
Deep domain expertise in the technologies and strategies surrounding edge device development including communication protocols, sensor technologies, and integrated hardware and firmware development
Deep knowledge of product development dynamics and go-to-market tactics
Proven ability to work, balance, and prioritize a wide range of product inputs from a wide range of stakeholders while having an intuitive sense of market and product requirements
Ability to energize teams at all levels of the organization and effectively balance multiple initiatives
Familiarity with Tridium Niagra framework
Working knowledge of wired building system communication protocols (e.g. BACnet, LonWorks, Modbus)
Strong analytical and statistical data driven approach
Strong empathy for the developer audience
Ability to develop and present new product business cases, cost / benefit analysis, economic modeling, and resourcing plans
Requires high energy, assertiveness, and self -motivated individual to work in a fast-paced environment with limited direction
