Role Summary:

The Sales Application Engineer will enjoy a career that blends engineering, marketing, sales and a high level of autonomy into one role.

Essential Responsibilities:

As the Sales Application Engineer, you will:

  • Collaborate with strategic consultants and users to define their needs, develop applicable solutions and influence their adoption into project specifications

  • Possess a strong working knowledge of the following products and the capability to package them into solutions: Switchgear, switchboards, panelboards, transformers, motor control, power monitoring, uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), automatic transfer switches (ATS), paralleling switchgear (PSG), flywheels and busway

  • Understand short circuit / coordination and arc flash mitigation concepts and possess the experience to illustrate solutions with tools such as SKM or Easy Power

  • Drive new product acceptance into the technical community and accelerate adoption of highly technical concepts

  • Prepare technical drawings, specifications, calculations and cost estimates for GE equipment and system performance / owning costs

  • Be highly active in industry conferences and thought leadership organizations

  • Shape future products by translating customer needs (technical and code related) into concepts the product management team can execute on


  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university or college

  • Minimum of 7 years of technical sales or engineering / specification experience with electrical / critical power products


  • Ability and willingness to travel 25% of the time within assigned geographic region

  • Unrestricted authorization to work in the USA

Preferred locations: Cincinnati, Dayton, and Columbus, Ohio; however, Northern Kentucky and other cities may be considered
