Role Summary:

The UTTM Sales Manager will be responsible for setting territory and customer account strategies, achieving the designated orders operating plan and developing customer relationships for the North America UT Test Machine business, a part of the GE Inspection Technologies business. In this role, the Sales Manager will be responsible for managing the commercial activities including lead generation, proposal development and contract negotiation for a specific territory and set of customer accounts.

Essential Responsibilities:

This role will be responsible for delivering the overall orders, convertible orders, sales, CM op plan for the assigned territory and individual accounts and will need to work closely with the product line, commercial operations, project management, engineering and manufacturing to ensure the appropriate sales processes are executed and customer relationships are maintained. This job may provide the opportunity to be worked remotely as required by the business.

In the role of UTTM Sales Manager - OH, IL, you will:

  • Be responsible for the specific territory financial operating plan and customer relationships

  • Develop and execute customer strategies, demand generation, contract negotiations, and campaigns to achieve orders operating plan

  • Build strategy and growth initiatives for the UTTM business within the designated territory and customer accounts

  • Partner with the assigned services engineer to support service product offerings and execution of service activities at customer sites

  • Resolve regional customer issues, as necessary

  • Participate in opportunity tracking calls and operating review calls

  • Ensure accuracy of the sales opportunity management system (i.e. Salesforce or another CRM tool)

  • Manage sales and opportunity funnel

  • Negotiate contracts including: commercial terms, pricing and fulfillment of all compliance requirements

  • Partner with product line leaders to ensure customer responsiveness and to promote orders growth Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in successful sales negotiation or close equivalency with the ability to structure creative deals for customer solutions, negotiate contracts, and deal effectively with customersEligibility Requirements:

  • Travel 50% of the time, as required

  • Residence: Must currently reside within the sales region territory (Illinois, Indiana, Pennsylvania & Ohio) or be willing to relocate into the sales territory. NOTE: Relocation assistance not provided for this role Desired Characteristics:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university

  • Experience managing direct reports or teams

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, organizational and multitasking skills

  • Demonstrated ability to engage in high-level sales and business discussions

  • Demonstrated past success in sales and/or services

  • Experience with standard customer-service and sales-database programs (i.e. or similar CRM)

  • Strong interpersonal and analytical skills
