Position Overview Responsible for Lean Enterprise program development and implementation, will assist in training, and coaching employees, and facilitating continuous improvement events throughout the company. This individual will lead problem solving and process improvement processes by defining problems, identifying gaps in performance, gathering data, deciding on solutions, implementing improvements, measuring results and ensuring changes are sustained. Primary Job FunctionsLeading the cultural transformation to a Lean continuous improvement culture. Develop, implement, and maintain a Continuous Improvement Program based upon Lean principles that enhance all aspects of Performance (customer value, quality, productivity, and safety).Introduce and employ Continuous Improvement events to target and eliminate waste. Identify and train core group of Continuous Improvement leaders.Work with managers and supervisors to focus on Continuous Improvement activities within their areas of responsibility.Work closely with management to establish sustainable Lean practices that empower employees, accelerate change, and enable personal and team development.Serve as a change agent to challenge existing processes in place. Use data to communicate and support the opportunities that exist.Utilize the tools of Lean to eliminate or reduce the 8 wastes.Facilitates Kaizen events to achieve specific goals of Continuous Improvement and teach others the principles of Lean. Formulates and recommends manufacturing processes and procedures, layout, and material handling methods.Provides advice, compiles data and determines probable costs for process improvement projects.Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you collaborate with customers, clients, co-workers, and management.Help the company meet its Quality and Safety objectives.Other duties may also be assigned. Complexity/Decision MakingThis position interacts with all levels of internal staff. That interaction requires strong oral and written communication skills. Works on assignments that are complex in nature where judgment is required in resolving problems and making routine recommendations.Provides leadership to team members regarding assignments. Effectiveness in this role also requires functional knowledge of corporate operations and the facility layout. Ability to recognize deviation from accepted practice is required. Accuracy is required in performing all functions of this position; errors in work could negatively impact the business.
