The Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Advisor is accountable for supporting a strong positive safety culture by: initiating, managing and administering safety initiatives including safety coaching and training; identifying and evaluating hazards; recommending, implementing and testing control measures, conducting investigations, and conducting New Hire Orientations.
ROLES/RESPONSIB IL ITIES:
Conducts safety and/or environmental audits and inspects facilities within geographic area
Ensure a safe working environment and compliance with Federal and regulatory laws
Participate in leading EHS related investigations identifying the root cause
Responsible for conducting inspections; reporting statistics; counseling managers and districts
Promotes a safe work place by assisting with developing safety systems, communication plans, and recognition programs
Conducts visits work sites regularly to ensure practical, safety measures are in place within the workplace
Implement a safety culture to ensure employees are accountable and responsible for health, safety and environmental conditions and practices
Presents information and responds to questions or concerns from employees, managers, and clients
Conducts EHS training, safety meetings, and stand downs for district areas
Participates in audits and after action reviews
Responds to inquiries or complaints from clients, regulatory agencies and/or community groups
Provide metrics to EHS manager and district managers
Handles special projects, as assigned
Associates degree and 5-6 years’ experience
Bachelor’s degree preferred and 3+ years’ experience
Leader in promoting a safe working environment
Proven success and demonstrated passion for leading a team and influencing to drive business results
- HSE certifications preferred
WORK E NVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL ABILITIES:
While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions. The employee is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the environment is moderate to loud.
While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand, sit and walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms, lift up to 50 pounds. Occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk, hear and smell; lift more than 100 pounds. The vision requirements include: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
