Sanford Health Internship Program aims to provide our interns with challenging, real-world projects specific to their career path. An Employee Health Services intern will contribute to Sanford operations and processes while obtaining first-hand experience that align with the mission, vision, and values of the organization.
The Employee Health Intern will contribute to Sanford operations and processes while obtaining first hand experiences that align with the mission, vision and values of the organization. Must have good human relations and communications skills, must be able to follow procedures and instructions. Must have strong problem solving, leadership and analytical skills. The Employee Health Intern will be responsible for assisting Corporate Medicine Assistants with document management. This may include organizing employee records in both paper and digital format, scanning records to OnBase and indexing the documents. The intern will be working in a fast paced environment and serve as Sanford ambassadors to new employees. The intern may also participate in projects involving public health. The Employee Health intern will report to the Sioux Falls Employee Health manager and work side by side with the Corporate Medicine Assistants. The intern may attend meetings as deemed appropriate by both the intern and the EHS Manager such as Infection Prevention, Employee Safety meetings, Environment of Care meetings.
Must be a junior or senior pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Healthcare administration, Human Resources, Public Health, other healthcare fields or an immediate graduate having received one of the previously listed majors. Must have good human relations and communications skills; must be able to follow procedures and instructions given by the leadership staff. Must have strong problem solving, leadership, and analytical skills. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Products.
