MDU Resources Group Natural Gas Construction Supervisor in Minot, North Dakota
Responsible for placing safety as #1 priority in day to day work routine for self and others. Provides leadership and supervision to utility and/or contractor construction crews. Responsible for planning and coordinating manpower and equipment needs to facilitate new construction and maintenance/upgrades to existing systems in a safe and cost effective manner in compliance with company and industry standards.
Supervises assigned construction and maintenance projects to comply with established codes and standards of the Company and to meet state and federal regulations. Supervises and evaluates assigned crew members to maximize productivity, efficiency and effectiveness.
Level I: Must possess a working knowledge of gas and/or electric utility operations at a level normally acquired through an Associate’s Degree with strong technical emphasis or four years related experience. Two years experience in the construction or maintenance of related facilities. Level II: Must meet Level I requirements and have two years experience as a construction supervisor I or equivalent related experience. Must demonstrate skills, knowledge and ability to: 1. Recognize matters needing attention and to initiate action on that recognition 2. Have excellent working knowledge of company practices, procedures as well as state and federal requirements 3. Understand policies, practices and precedents to exercise sound judgment in handling or referring non-routine situations Level III: Must meet Level I & II requirements and have a four-year degree in an engineering curriculum or eight years of related work experience and two years experience in the construction or maintenance of electric or gas facilities.

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States, no sponsorships considered.

Position requires travel throughout the service territory, and work in the field in all weather conditions.
